ANOTHER SOLD OUT EVENT FOR ANOTHER MOTHER

Another Mother

This time it was at Word Up: Community Bookshop – Libreria Comunitaria on Amsterdam Avenue in Manhatten but this time with a difference. The nannies were out in full force and not only from Jamaica but from Barbados, St. Lucia and Trinidad and Tobago. Ross says:

“I am so grateful to honor them and the important work they do- with love that extends beyond bloodlines.”

There was a lively discussion about domestic worker’s rights as nannies related stories of their lives inspired by Dezna’s story in Another Mother. They have invited Ross to do a nanny-focused reading in January. For the Word UP reading Ross was joined by Anna Ruth Henriques who engaged him in an on-stage dialogue and questions after the reading.

Next Stop: BOOKS AND BOOKS in Coral Gables, Florida October 25.
